A Proven Leader
Olivia Brown is a Senior Geologist with over a decade of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, where she worked across asset development, reservoir characterization, exploration, and operations. For the past five years, she has focused on carbon capture and storage (CCS), supporting projects from early-stage evaluation through permitting and development.
Contributions to the Science
Olivia has played a key role on new ventures and permitting teams responsible for the first Class VI applications submitted in Colorado and Nebraska, providing direct experience navigating evolving regulatory frameworks. She also served in a central role in co-authoring New Mexico’s Class VI rules as part of the state’s primacy application process, contributing to the development of regulatory language and program structure aligned with federal requirements.
Her technical background spans nearly every major U.S. basin, offering a broad perspective on subsurface characterization and injection feasibility. She has also served as a Principal Investigator on a U.S. Department of Energy CarbonSAFE Phase II project that was ultimately selected for $68 million in federal funding. Olivia brings a combination of subsurface expertise and regulatory insight, with a track record of advancing CCS projects from concept through permitting and into project execution.
