Challenge

The City of Mesa needed to install or replace water supply wells for their East Valley Desert Service Area. However, the area presented many logistical challenges from nearby residential neighborhoods, City parks, ongoing development, pre-existing small wells, and other nearby infrastructure that required careful design and construction services to minimize disturbances to the public.

Solutions

GLA provided a wide range of services for this project, including design of well design and technical specifications, bidding assistance, aquifer testing, and project and construction management services. Our team designed eight new or replacement wells for the City, applied for and obtained all necessary permits, and provided management services over the entire project for the successful installation of the water supply wells.

Results

Our technical specifications and construction management services led to the installation of high-performing water wells that provide the East Valley Service Area with clean drinking water despite being placed in areas of high arsenic concentrations. Further, our project and construction management ensured that the public was kept safe from health hazards and received minimal disturbances during construction.
