A Proven Leader
Gundar Peterson, PE, is a Senior Vice President and Principal Engineer specializing in environmental investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater at hazardous waste sites, and the design and permitting of landfills and disposal facilities. Mr. Peterson has more than 30 years of experience in water and environmental engineering, including water and wastewater treatment planning and design; landfill projects for municipalities, private, and tribal entities; design and project management for remediation and reclamation; evapotranspiration (ET) cover design; surface water management; and contaminated soil and groundwater investigation projects.
Mr. Peterson has worked with a range of clients, including U.S. Department of Energy, New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, University of New Mexico (UNM), and a variety of private commercial and industrial clients.
Contributions to the Science
Mr. Peterson serves as the National Director on the Board of Directors for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New Mexico member organization. He has presented at numerous industry conferences, such as StormCon, Australian Landfill & Transfer Stations Conference, American Water Resources Annual Conference, and New Mexico Environmental Health Conference.
