A Proven Leader

Nicole T. Sweetland, PhD, PG, is a Principal Hydrogeologist and President of Geo-Logic Associates. She works closely with clients to develop effective strategies to quickly and effectively resolve their complex environmental concerns about contaminated soil, groundwater, and indoor air. Dr. Sweetland has provided expert support to clients about contaminant issues at landfills, industrial facilities, refineries, gasoline stations, and dry-cleaning facilities. She has extensive experience in hydrogeology, including flow through unsaturated and saturated materials, applications of numerical models, contaminant fate and transport, site investigations, remedial actions, indoor air vapor intrusion, and environmental forensics. She often utilizes technical tools including databases, geographic information systems (GIS), environmental forensics, and modeling to perform complex technical analyses.

Contributions to the Science

Dr. Sweetland’s contributions to and respect in the scientific community are demonstrated through her articles published in peer-reviewed journals, her presentations at technical conferences, and through serving on the editorial boards of Groundwater (current), Environmental Forensics, and Groundwater Monitoring & Remediation. In 2015, Dr. Sweetland was invited to instruct the spring undergraduate Geography/Environmental Studies course on Water Quality at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
