Necessary Information to file for a Building Permit:

  • Two (2) sets of complete (dimensioned, detailed & noted) plans, Foundation, Floor(s), Elevations and a Cross Section(s).
  • Two (2) plot plans or plats of survey, showing elevations, building locations, dimensions, setbacks, drainage direction(s) and erosion control measures.
  • Two (2) copies of the buildings Thermal Performance (heat loss calculations).
  • Completed permit application, including project description, location, owner and contractor’s address(s), phone number(s), contractor’s certification numbers and the signed Cautionary Statement to Owner.

Types of work requiring one or more permits:

  • New structures, including additions, garages (attached and detached), sheds, decks.
  • Install, repair, replace decks, porches, stairs, fencing, roofing, gutters, siding, soffit, fascia, windows, doors, skylights.
  • Install, relocate or replace driveways, fireplaces, chimneys, furnaces and/or air conditioners.
